ORCHITIS
• Bacterial orchitis: due to extension of infection to the testis in cases of acute epididymitis "epididymo-orchitis”.
• Mumps orchitis " viral orchitis”.
CHRONIC EPIDIDYMO-ORCHITIS
Non specific epididymitis: may follow acute inadequately treated attack, or may arise chronic from the start.
– There is a hard painful mass in the epididymis with a small secondary hydrocele.
– Treatment includes anti-inflammatory drugs and antibiotic. The response to treatment is slow.
